The Ketogenic or Keto diet has gotten A LOT of media coverage in the last few years. I decided to follow up my original Keto video with one where I actually try out the diet for myself.
I was not surprised that the keto diet was difficult to stick to because of the restrictive nature of it. However, the weight loss and other benefits were definitely noticed and fairly early on into the diet.

I’m so surprised that a dr. could get Keto and IF sooooooo wrong. He didn’t do anything right at all. He didn’t research or even look at vids that pertain to the subject matter. He just knew high fat and protein, which is not right at all. Most of the time he promoted Thrive, which you don’t even need to do Keto. Yikes.

I’m a young person I’ve been doing keto for about a year. The first month or so is very hard to stick to. I am a junior in college. I like it because it helps me focus and perform better on my tests. My mom has been doing keto for about 2 years. She has lost 80 pounds on keto.

"You probably think I’m a failure" What? even if you have one bad binge meal you can sometimes stay in ketosis because your body may have already started the process of using fat for fuel in stead of carbs for their main source.

I have hypoglycemia. Like I’m a sugar addict. My mum fed me sweets over food growing up, that left some real issues. I get low blood sugar fast and easily, fainting – everything. The ONLY thing that completely and fully stops that is Keto. Also I never felt hungry on keto. And the plus side? I could literally LIVE on cheese. Love cheese. I don’t eat red meat either but I never had a problem. Except for lack of snacks, cause I’m not into eggs.

Soda isn’t really keto unless it’s extremely moderate, or sugar-freesoda. When I did keto the best sort of drinks (in moderation) that I found for me were: a spirit with ice and lime, or a small amount of dry wine.

I´m researching about Keto and heard about some of the side effects. But what Im really concerned abou is the "Keto breath and sweat" 😮 I mean, I leave in Brazil and it´s really hot in here, can you imagine being smelly all the time?! haha. So my question is: is that a constant or just temporary? Did you experienced it?

Dr Mike, great video but you make a lot of keto mistakes. You can eat salad and avocado. You shouldn’t snack. There are two keto camps. One is high fat but the other is high protein. Just had to point these out. You are still a very helpful doctor though 😊.
I’ve been on Keto for a month:
a) I’ve lost 20lbs pounds and lowered my blood pressure
b) It’s annoying, because it’s restrictive and binary when it comes to being in ketosis; you have to test yourself by checking blood glucose levels
c) It’s annoying, socially, because it’s restrictive
I’m switching back to flexible dieting, because I can still get shredded and keep my friends.

6lbs in 4 weeks is not "rapid". That is quite regular weight loss.
